There are a lot of guides and help to figure out the practical aspects of collaborating with social justice movements, but I think there are a couple of questions that are a good starting place when figuring this stuff out. 

• What are you offering?

• What are you looking for in a partnership?

• What do you already know about the issue you are wanting to address?

• Why do you care? 

When thinking about the tactical aspects, don’t forget that we are actually talking about bridging two different industries. Each industry has its own language, structure and ways of operating. A little understanding about how nonprofits work can help generate clear expectations and facilitate trust, growth and a partnership that can be built on.
