Culture Lab Rapid Response connects musicians, venues, and cultural leaders with the tools, resources, and support they need to respond to threats against inclusive democracy. Whether facing disinformation, harassment, or community challenges, this network empowers artists to take meaningful, creative action when it matters most.

Tailored Toolkits: Toolkits, messaging guides, and social media templates to help communities respond effectively.
Support: Guidance for managing discrimination, harassment, or activism-related incidents, including support for online and in-person challenges.
Connections to Local Partners: Facilitating collaborations between touring musicians and regional organizations.
Training and Education: Opportunities to engage with WSC webinars, fellowships, and ongoing learning resources.

The Rapid Response Network is a Western States Center Culture Lab initiative supporting the music community, from artists to venues, to address emergent crises and counteract authoritarian and anti-democracy activity. This network offers resources and builds collaborative relationships to amplify the important role of music in protecting inclusive democracy.

Receive online threats, backlash or other targeting before or after an event.
If you have information to share about how you handled a situation.

How it Works
Submit a Request: Artists, venues, or community members can use our Rapid Response Request Form to seek assistance.
Receive Support: A Culture Lab team member will respond to provide resources, guidance, or connections to address your needs.
Stay Engaged: Network members are invited to participate in trainings, WSC events, and collaborative cohorts to strengthen their impact. To learn more, please sign up here!
